Robert Trendy
Robert Trendy, the District Attorney for Putnam County, New York, was sworn into his position on January 1, 2016. He ran on a platform of restoring integrity, ethics, and professionalism to government offices. His dedication and experience have resulted in dozens of successful trials, ranging from drug charges to murder.
To combat the growing issue of illegal drugs, Putnam County District Attorney Robert Tendy announced the creation of two new units. The first is a Major Financial Crimes Unit that will handle cases involving tax evasion and theft. The other is a Special Victims Unit, which will prosecute cases involving elderly and child victims of crime. Each unit will be led by an investigator and will have three assistant district attorneys.
Barry A. Fleming
Barry A. Fleming is a lawyer and the district attorney of seven Georgia counties and cities. He has a long history in the legal community and was previously a partner at Fulcher Hagler, LLP. His practice focuses on civil litigation. He represents private companies as well as counties and cities in special litigation matters.
Fleming has served the city of Washington, Georgia, for 16 years. The city of Washington is located approximately 110 miles east of downtown Atlanta and has a population of about 4,000 people. Approximately 60% of its residents are Black. Fleming’s departure from the Washington city government does not mean he’s finished working for the county, but it is a sad sign of the state of Georgia.
Andrew Krivak
Proponents of Putnam County District Attorney Andrew Krivak point to several instances when prosecutors failed to turn over evidence promptly or even refused to turn it over altogether. Critics of Krivak say the DA’s office failed to act in the best interest of the public.
Krivak served nearly 20 years in prison, but now he’s seeking release. He was tried for the rape and murder of 12-year-old Josette Wright, but was acquitted after his co-defendant Anthony DiPippo won a retrial. Both Krivak and DiPippo were seventeen and eighteen at the time of the crime.
DiPippo
In a scathing statement, the Putnam County district attorney condemned a $12 million settlement to acquit convicted rapist Anthony DiPippo. DiPippo, who was twice convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl, had served two decades in prison when his third trial ended in acquittal. He insists he was never the killer and was only picked because he was the usual suspect.
Despite the conviction, Krivak’s family is appealing the case. Putnam County District Attorney Anthony DiPippo is dissatisfied with the decision and has filed an appeal. The family has said the Putnam County DA’s office failed to prove his innocence.
Office of the district attorney
The Putnam County District Attorney’s Office is looking for a full-time Assistant District Attorney to handle criminal cases. The ideal candidate will have a background in criminal law, be familiar with the latest technology and computer skills, and have strong writing skills. Part of the job involves handling cases involving special victims. In addition to a resume and cover letter, you will need to submit writing samples.
The Putnam County District Attorney’s Office recently launched a new initiative to reduce illegal drug activity. In addition to the new division, the prosecutor’s office has expanded its criminal prosecution efforts. The prosecutor’s office has added new units, including a narcotics unit and a team dedicated to immigration affairs. The office also has expanded its outreach efforts to local law enforcement agencies.
The criminal justice system in Putnam County
The criminal justice system in Putnam County is centered around the county court system. Most criminal trials are held in the Putnam County Courthouse in Palatka. Located 60 miles south of Jacksonville, the county is a landlocked community with over 70,000 residents. Despite the small population, the county has a traditional prosecutorial system.
The county’s criminal courts handle many different types of cases, including driving while intoxicated (DWI). DWI cases are very common in Putnam and Westchester County, and they are similar to traffic offenses. However, some of these cases are more serious and can lead to felony charges. In some cases, a DWI case can even turn into a homicide.
